Vehicles & Crashes

This is a collection of projects I worked on involving moving vehicles and the various incidents or events they experience in the CGI world.

Shin

I put this one first because it looks so good.
In 2022, while freelancing, I was commissioned by Studioset to create the animation for the cars and the crash.
It was a fun project, and I drew on my previous experience from the Smiley and Aligator projects to bring this animation to life.
My role in this project focused solely on animating the cars.

Smiley

Smiley is a well-known Romanian singer, and his song 'Noi Doi și Noaptea' was a hit in 2021.

This project came to Studioset for post-production, and I was tasked with animating the cars, simulating the explosion, handling the look development, and rendering for integration into the live-action footage.
I was also responsible for creating the 3D audio cassettes that fly through in the next shot.

After several attempts, I realized I wouldn’t be able to get the car crashes right through simulation, so I decided to animate them by hand to have better control over what was happening with the cars.
The hood deformations were achieved using morphs.

Aligator

Not much to say about this one. It was a short film, and they needed some post-production work from Studioset in 2021.

I was responsible for animating, look development, and rendering the motorcycle scene, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
