Beverages
This is a collection of projects I worked on related to beverages.
Captain Jack
In 2022, while freelancing, I was contacted by Studioset to assist them with CGI for a Captain Jack beer commercial, for which they were handling post-production.
My tasks included creating and rendering the South American jungle temple, the luminescent butterflies in the cave, the helicopter, and developing the look of the beer bottles based on real-life models.
Additionally, I modeled and rendered the parrot-shaped island featured in the packshot and animated the beer bottles for the same sequence.
Dorna
This was one of the first projects I worked on at Studioset in 2019 and also one of my earliest experiences with TyFlow, which was still in its beta stage at the time.
The project was for Dorna, which was launching a new bottle made from recyclable plastic.
The bottle disintegration and reformation intro a new bottle in the clip symbolized the transformation and sustainability message behind their product.
Learning TyFlow was quite fun! The disintegration effect was created using a cloth simulation applied to a low-poly mesh, which was then wrapped with a high-resolution model of the bottle.
This approach allowed for both efficiency and visual accuracy. The biggest challenge was fine-tuning the simulation to ensure the fragments moved in a natural, organic way.
Veltins
In 2014, I was commissioned by Worksfilmstudio to produce a full CGI animation showcasing Veltins beer at a ski jumping event.
My responsibilities included creating the entire mountain resort environment, except for the stadium, which was done by someone else.
I animated the crowd in the stands, developed the look for all the shots, rendered the scenes, and handled the compositing.
The most challenging aspect for me at that time was creating the crowd.
I achieved this by animating mesh characters, baking their animations into point caches, and then writing a Maxscript to randomize their appearance by varying the colors of their clothing.
